RTI Makes Big Splash With Dealers at CEDIA EXPO 2010

Company Unveils Long-Awaited Software Development Kit and Certified Partner Program In Addition to RTiDock for iPod® and AD-8 Distributed Audio Matrix Switcher

ATLANTA, CEDIA EXPO 2010 — Sept. 22, 2010 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today introduces a host of new solutions and dealer initiatives at CEDIA EXPO 2010. RTI is unveiling its long-awaited software development kit (SDK) for dealers, in addition to the RTI Certified Partner Program. CEDIA EXPO also marks the debut of the ultimate iPod® accessory for any distributed audio system from RTI, and a new eight-zone distributed audio matrix switcher.

While RTI offers a broad, growing assortment of drivers for two-way communications between supported RTI control solutions and popular third-party systems from leading manufacturers, RTI's talented dealer base craves the ability to create more. RTI's SDK offers dealers a tool to develop drivers themselves. Dealers can request access to the kit through a simple online application process on the RTI dealer website and receive support through a development community on the RTI Online Dealer Forum.

To protect its dealers from unauthorized sales of RTI products, the company is also announcing the RTI Certified Partner Program. Once dealers have completed the requirements and receive the RTI Certified Dealer designation, they can display the certification on their websites or in their showrooms. The application process will be very straightforward for legitimate RTI dealers. RTI dealers will simply need to have a signed dealer agreement on file with RTI; have at least one technician fully trained on the RTI programming process; complete a simple online exam; and have an account in good standing with an approved RTI distribution partner. By January 2011, RTI will add a disclaimer on its corporate website notifying consumers that RTI products should be purchased from certified partners (resellers) and products purchased from unauthorized resellers will not carry a manufacturer's warranty. In addition, an enhancement to the company's website will include a complete listing of all certified partners in a dealer referral system, making them eligible to receive leads directly from RTI.

At CEDIA EXPO 2010, RTI will introduce the RTiDock, which allows consumers to connect their iPods into their audio systems and easily distribute and control them through an RTI in-wall or handheld controller. The RTiDock features rackmount or desktop options and a host of benefits not found on other iPod docks, such as the ability to sync with iTunes® over the network through Virtual Sync technology.

Also making its debut at CEDIA EXPO will be RTI's AD-8 eight-zone distributed audio matrix switcher. Acting as an extension to RTI's control systems, the AD-8 offers a low-cost and very effective solution for distributing music in a residential or commercial installation. Containing both a matrix switching pre-amp and a built-in Cool Power® class D amplifier, the AD-8 achieves amazing flexibility with eight local audio source inputs that can be further enhanced with four remote audio sources.

"Our dealers have been eagerly awaiting an RTI SDK for some time, and they are going to be ecstatic that it is finally here. In addition, we're sure that they will be delighted with our Certified Partner Program initiative, which protects them from unauthorized resellers while providing them with great opportunities for potential customers in our dealer referral system," said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. "When you add in the debut of exciting new solutions for their customers such as the RTiDock and AD-8, this may just be the best CEDIA EXPO ever for RTI and our dealers, and we can't wait for the show to start."

RTI will also be demonstrating several solutions that made their debut at InfoComm 2010 and will begin shipping shortly after CEDIA EXPO 2010. These products include the powerful T2-C+, T3-V+, and ST-7 handheld controllers and RK10 in-wall controller; the Virtual Panel Web control interface; the much-anticipated RTiPanel app for iPhone®, iPod touch, and iPad™; and the XP-3 and XP-6 control processors, which will begin shipping in spring 2011.
