File Areas Enhanced – More Remotes!
Remote Central now offers downloads for a wider range of computer programmable remote controls.

RC News Story
I’ve recently analyzed our current selection of file areas and have re-named and expanded the scope of several of them. Specifically:

Philips Pronto Professional
Originally created for the deluxe 640x480 Pronto Professional TSU9600, I’ve now expanded it to also support the 240x320 Pronto Professional TSU9400. You’ll find a good selection of TSU9400 files already as well!

UEI Nevo Family
The former NevoSL file area has been expanded to also cover the square-screened Nevo Q50, as well as the enhanced Nevo S70 remote control.

URC’s MX Graphical Series
The former Complete Control MX-3000 file area will now also contain files for all of URC’s fully graphical remotes, which right now includes the MX-810 “Wizard Remote” and Complete Control MX-980.

URC’s MX Text Series
This one has been through a few names over the years, starting off strictly as an area for the Home Theater Master MX-700, but I’ve now expanded it to include support for every text-based remote from URC, including the MX-700, MX-800, MX-850, MX-900, MX-950 and TX-1000.

RTI TheaterTouch Family
Once only for the classic T2, this file area will now serve as home for all of RTI’s models, including the T2-C, T3, T4, and all other universal RTI files and IR libraries.

So you’re probably thinking – just how do I sort out what I need? It’s not that hard, really. For the most part I’ve tried to keep the file areas generally compatible – for example the software to most of these new remotes can also open up the files to other “grouped” models from the same manufacturer.

However if you do want to only show files for a particular remote, there’s a small drop-down list available at the top of the yellow framed section. Simply select the model you want, press “Go”, and the screen will change to show you how many files are available – for example “10/5” means there are a total of 10 files in that section, and 5 of them are for your model. Depending on the number of files that have been uploaded for a model, you may also find quick links to easily show system files for that remote (models that don’t have similar links will likely have them added as the number of files grows).

So, here’s how you can help: if you work with or own a computer programmable remote control, then you have something we need! We want your configuration files – especially to these newer remotes. Help us continue to grow the Internet's original and largest free remote control file area with the IR codes to your A/V components, your unique bitmaps and system designs, the manuals to universal remotes (we have over 850 so far!), or anything else related to remotes you’ve found that would be of benefit to others.

To start the upload process simply visit this page. And of course if you have any questions, just let me know using the CONTACT link.

Thanks for your help, and enjoy!

I just purchased the MX-950 and I have it programmed to turn on and off most of my components. However, I can't get it to function with my DirecTV DVR. I have model HR20 (700).

Anyone else having this problem?
