Forrest Gump
(1 vote)
Location:Walking through the Jungle
Features:Spatial
Description:In the scene where Forrest and Bubba are walking through the jungle in Vietnam and all of a sudden the bullets start flying. It sounds like they are whipping around you everywhere. Duck!

This sounded good on VHS and when I checked it out on DVD I was exponentially impressed.

From Dusk 'til Dawn
(2 votes)
Location:Opening sequence
Features:Semi crossing soundfield
Description:The opening scene is a desert road from back left to top right. You hear the semi over your left shoulder several seconds before it enters visuals. You hear it come up from behind/left and dissappear far away to your front right. Awesome use of soundstage that *anyone* could appreciate, without behing overwhelmed by too much action. A perfect intro to 5.1

George of the Jungle
(5 votes)
Location:Chapter 4, Chapter 5, 6 minutes into chapter 16.
Features:Subwoofer & rear channel activity.
Description:OK, this whole film is excellent for subwoofer and rear channel action, but chapter 4 (lion fight) and chapter 5 (doggie elephant) are GREAT for bass. A bit into chapter 16 is one of the most memorable moments, when the characters (in front) start arguing with the narrator (in the rear).

Gladiator
(8 votes)
Location:(DTS) Beginning Battle
Features:The Sound is Amazing
Description:When the Battle begins, the arrows whistling through the air, the Fire Balls exploding against the trees, and the music playing in the background really puts your system work. One of the best movies to Demo your Home Theater System to your friends and family.

Gladiator
(6 votes)
Location:(DTS) Fight scene of Rome v Hannibal in Colloseum
Features:Top quality sound effects and panning
Description:Great roar as the Gladiators enter the Arena, with the sensational musical score, followed by trumpets and silence and announcements. Then come the chariots with their spindle wheels. A few bassy areas (nothing huge), but great effects throughout the battle.

Godzilla
(2 votes)
Location:Menu screen
Features:True 25Hz bass ecstasy
