Here is my equipment (located upstairs):
LG 47LB1DA (47" LCD w/built-in DVR) LG RC199H (Upconvert DVD/VCR Recorder) Linksys Wireless Dual-Band A/G Media Center Extender, Model: WMCE54AG
My computer (located downstairs) is: DELL XPS 400 How can I turn my computer on with either of the remotes? If I can't is there anything I can do to solve this problem? The only idea I have come up with so far is to use a RF remote. Please Help!?! Any suggestions welcomed, trying to brainstorm.

Which remotes?
You can't turn your computer on with an OEM remote. No way, now how, impossible, can't be done. If that's what you're suggesting.

Havn't seen it done. I am familiar with all the dell pc's, but the only way i can think of this being possible is through a media center pc which you have. You just need to put a flasher on the reciever on the media pc's IR reciever that hooks through USB, but you have the linkys. hmmmm, i've never used the linksys media center extender, but you do have a learning remote right? if you do then i doubt this would be a problem. I am doing it with my HP media center pc.
Good luck!

I just checked out the extender and it's not useful for what you are doing. This is only for sharing recorded files on other pc's. Only way i can think that would be possible is using an emmiter on the USB IR reciever and having a learning IR remote.

I use the "M-Play 202 Plus" to boot my computer.... you just need a 5 1/4" bay available and plug a few cables.... Visit: http://www.vlsys.co.kr/And if your computer is downstair, as you said, you can transmit the IR codes somewhere else with "Powermid Infrared Extender" [Link: novitatech.org.au]
