Hi all,

Newbie here, humbly requesting assistance. I have a Samsung home theater (HT-DS610) but the remote is (sadly) missing. It really stinks to have to get up to change the volume, but perhaps even worse, the console doesn't even have arrows to navigate DVD menus. :(

I bought a cheap universal remote - an Innovage jumbo universal remote - which works fine for everything else but I can't for the life of me get it to work with the Samsung home theater. I've read on other pages that this remote is poorly supported and generally considered crappy.

Anyways, if anyone can offer advice on what to do I'd really appreciate it. I'll buy a new universal remote, if it is known to work well, especially one that is known to work with this home theater.

I don't know which remotes are available in Argentina, but here are some remotes which I know will work with the HT-DS610. RCA RCRP05B, OneForAll OARP05S, most Atlas cable/SAT remotes, and Sony RM-VLZ620.  Use setup code 31295 or 31868 or Audio 1295/1868, depending on whether the remote takes 5 or 4 digit setup codes.  All except the Sony can be further customized in case some function isn't included in the original setup code.

I just purchased the Sony RM-VLZ620 universal remote and it absolutely does not work with the Samsung DVD player model HT-DS610. I tried every code in the book that came with it and the codes listed above. None of them worked. The code search function on the remote also did not work. Sorry 3FG, you are mistaken.

You're bringing up a 5 year old thread, so the stereo has to be at least 5 years old, did you buy it used? Could be that stereo isn't accepting IR commands?
