I have a Sony audio reciever STR-G1ES with a Sony RM-VP1 remote. I have read on this web site that the following remotes will work with this receiver: The one-for-all urc-6820, 8820, or 10820 all are under $20. I have sent a request to the remote manufacturer with the following results: Quote: Below is the list of codes for your devices. When you try each code make sure you get a double blink. If not that code is not in the remote. AUD: 0158, 1058, 1158, 1441, 1758, 1759. Unquote. My question is this: You have to have a tv set to change the functions of this audio reciever (STR-G1ES). WILL THESE REMOTES WITH THESE CODES WORK ON THE STR-G1ES?????? I am not sure if this is a RF remote or a IR remote. I have been told if it is a rf remote no remote will work. I am not sure. Any help will greatly be appreciated. I do not want to throw this perfectly good amp away simply because the oringinal remote does not work. And its replacement cost is outrageous. Thank you. The visiontouch code in those remotes is aud 1442. this comes from an employee of the UEI, MrCinema7 who works in the capture center.

edmund, Thank you very much. You just saved my amplifier. I will purchase the remote and if the code is not in the remote, the company said I could send it in to be added. This is great news. Thank you. Dave
