"Doesn't work" isn't very descriptive, so its hard to help.  Do the red LEDs on the remote device buttons light up?  Using a cell phone camera to look at the transmitting end of the remote can you see flashes of light when pressing butttons?

No components respond?  Why would turning off the TV make the remote worK?

Or do you mean that the cable box doesn't respond to the remote?  If it is the latter, turn off the cable box (unplug it, wait a couple of minutes, and then repower.  If that fixes the problem, but it recurs, and cycling cable box power restores response, return the cable box to Comcast.)

The buttons light up and it's not a cable box problem because I just tried a neighbors remote and it works just fine. So maybe could my remote have been reset with so many codes Comcast had me enter and now my remote doesn't respond to my box?

I'm not sure which "reset" code to try because you have posted so many helpful codes for other people. But Comcast did have me try about 16 codes to get my remote to work, but it still isn't responding. But why would my neighbors remote work with mine?
Thank you!

What model number is your DVR?  Does your remote have a red OK/Select button?  Does the TV respond OK?  Any other components to control?

It is a DCH3416 I think. The remote has a red OK/Select button. The TV used to respond OK before all the reset codes. I also want to make sure the DVR button works. Just a TV and DVR/Cable box to control.
Thanks again!

Let's try the following.

A. Do a partial reset
1) Press setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 980
The remote should blink 4 times.

B. Turn off cable setup code lock
1) Press CBL
2) Press Setup until 2 blinks
3) Enter 982
The remote should blink 4 times.  If it blinks twice, do the procedure again.

C.  Assign setup code 01376 to CBL
1) Press CBL
2) Press Setup until 2 blinks
3) Enter 01376
The remote should blink 2 times.

Check if the remote will control the cable box.  If not, try C. with 01982.

D.  Assign setup code 10000 to TV
1) Press TV
2) Press Setup until 2 blinks
3) Enter 10000
The remote should blink 2 times.

Check to make sure that On Demand works.  Depending on the stuff Comcast had you do, some programming of individual buttons may have been lost.  Also, 10000 is a basic Sony TV setup code; if some needed functions don't work, post back.

The sony code worked, on demand works, EVERYTHING works. So much easier than dealing with Comcast. Bless you!

Registered just to say that well over 5 years later, this thread is still a tremendous resource. 5 minutes googling my problem and taking care of it here worked like an hour on the phone with Comcast never could.

Thanks again to everyone who contributes to this thread, in particular 3FG!

Good Evening! I have a Sanyo tv and a Motorola cable box from Comcast. The #is M10834TCE724. My remote is the one with the grey select button. This remote controls all functions of the cable box except the MY DVR. Can anyone help me? I have reprogrammed, Comcast sent a signal to the box, I unplugged the box and replaced the batteries in my remote. I'm running out of ideas. Any thoughts or advice is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Try the following test:
1) Press Cable
2) Tap Setup (don't hold it)
3) Enter 00175 while pointing the remote at the cable box.
This should send the My DVR command.

If the command works, you can semi-permanently assign it to the MyDVR button by:
1) Press Cable
2) Press and hold Setup until 2 blinks
3) Enter 994 (should see another 2 blinks)
4) Tap Setup (don't hold it.)
5) Enter 00175
6) Tap MyDVR
The remote should blink twice to indicate that it recognized the procedure.

I reset my comcast remote so it would stop turning my TV on and off, and now ive lost some functions. The MYDVR button no longer works, EXIT no longer works, and my PIP buttons no longer work.

I have the cisco rng200 with the comcast 3in1 on demand/DVR remote with the red button.

I'm really only concerned with getting the MYDVR and EXIT buttons working again
