I'm looking for a tiny learning remote to pack in with things like portable DVD player, XM radio, etc. Something that will fit in the carry bag, but able to learn commands from an off brand (or non brand) and having enough buttons to cover the important DVD functions. A credit card style would be great (e.g. the non-learning remote from Radio Shack) but I've never seen a learning remote in this form factor. Any suggestions?

These two remotes are the size of a deck of cards. One is a Memorex Model No. CP4. It's part number is 320020-00.

Radio also sells an identical remote called a Realistic, model # 15-1902.

These are strictly learners---- you can teach any key to give any command from the original remote, using it's IR signal.

Note that there is a small hole and a switch at the bottom of the this hole on the back of the unit inside the battery comparment; pressing this switch will delete ALL memorized codes. It is best to press this before initially starting to enter codes for the first time in the new unit.

Good Luck!

Those are about 17 year old remotes, you won't find them anywhere but ebay.

I think Casio still sells their remote control watch (hey, it's small and it learns).

I have this remote, I got it at a second hand store, is it possible to just program your tv and vcr etc...without having to use another remote for this remote to learn from, since this is the only remote I have. The tv I have, didn't come with a remote, although it should have.
How do i program my tv , vcr, etc..with my 4 in one Realistic remote model 15-1902.

The 1902 is a learning remote only, no preset codes, so you will need the use of other remotes to teach this remote the commands. No getting around this, sorry.

I actually took my 15-1902 to the store I got my TV at once and used their remote to program it.
Otherwise you could find someone with a standard universal remote and program it with your product model numbers, then copy across from it.
