Take a pic of the TV and post it.. maybe someone will recognize it.. Also.. turn it around and see if theres any information on the back. Try searching google for any numbers or names you find.

I have several of this Dollar Store/Tree Universal Remote that works pretty well but I also lost my codes. I was able to mess around with it and figure out how to make it scan for your device and thus not need the codes.
1. Hold the SET button down and push the desired device button (TV1, TV2, etc.) then release both buttons.
2. The red LED will come on solid. This is where you would typically enter the device code.
3. Now press the SET button once and the LED will start blinking indicating that the remote is in the "scan" mode.
4. Now start pressing the red Power Button. Each time you press it, it tries a different code. Keep repeating until the device comes on.
5. Once the device came on, the remote has the correct code. Press the device button again to lock it in.
That's all there is to it. Good Luck!

yes, here is a link to a pdf copy of the instructions:
[Link: remotecentral.com]

you're going to want to use the auto search feature if you don't know the brand.

Wow, what are the odds. A one-time poster/lurker, reposts rather quickly. Good job. And Yancyam, go buy a lottery ticket, because today is your lucky day.

I know this a a very old thread, and I am not one to necropost, but I signed up just to say thank you, both to Nethangh for posting the picture, so I know for sure this is my remote, and to maestroorion for the link to the manual.

I just bought it to change to another input (poweroff by hand, everything else by cable remote that doesn't support my older tv), as the one I was using has loose solder and I was always jiggling it to get picture. The problem was that now DG didn't even supply me with a booklet. Don't know why. So I searched "Dollar general remote" and this was the second result.

I got it all changed now, so thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

No need to yell, it's pretty quiet in here. Also, did you read the thread and follow the link?

Hi,

I originally had software developed for this remote because I was selling it. Since I can no longer am able to sell these remotes, as my original supplier no longer carries them, I've decided to give the software away (provided you view a 5 second ad). You can get it from [Link: pessetto.com] it's called Code Detective. Please do not repost/reupload this software elsewhere if you decide to use it.
