Hello,

with remote I want to control my panasonic th-42px60, pionner receiver vsx1015, dvd player, lighting in living room(dimming..), window shades (up, down) and air condition (fan speed, cooling modes and temp.).

what do you suggest? I love Crestron touchpanels (but way too expensive!) or somethink like iPronto but its a little too expensive... what is TSU7500/RU990 like, is touch screen big enought?

thanks for helping!

There is the Universal Remote MX3000 at around 899-999 or less(dont buy from ebay buy from authorized dealer) Buying from a AD will get you proper software and support if needed www.univeralremote.com

There is also the Nevo SL at around 800ish www.mynevo.com

There is the RTI T3 and T4 at 1199.00 and 2499.00 Dealer programmed only, remotes wont learn IR and dont come with any CAbles or software www.rticorp.com

And as you mentioned the Pronto's
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

ok I read the TSU7000 review (good stuff!) and some other articles about pronto...so you think TSU7500 will serve me good? I love tons of options, programing, macros and just having fun with the remote.. I guess bigger touch screens are no go, because they are so pricey..

So with TSU7500 I ll have no problem controling my new devices (i moved 5 months ago...so everything in the house is new) like Panasonic air condition, curtains shades,.. and other stuff? Im most worried about first two... because the home cinema components are no problem to programe right?

Isn't $2500 for something that is really no more powerful than a current generation Treo a massive overkill? I guess if you are a remote manufacturer and establish a dealer cartel, you can get away with these price fixing games for a while. So what if you can surf the web from a T4? Can anyone say loss of product focus? What is inside that little plastic box is not worth anywhere near $2k, no matter what kind of customer service and so-called "advanced programming" is promised.

The new Pronto at $1299 is probably above your price limit, but the high resolution screen makes its small screen feel quite a bit bigger.

The new Harmony 1000 at $500 is going to be the super-bargain in color touchscreens, but remember that it has the same basic capabilities as the rest of the Harmony line (ie. don't expect the configurability of a Pronto, MX-3000 or Nevo SL).
