Starting to shop for a universal remote, and here's my system:

Hitachi 57F510 TV
Scientific Atlanta 8300 DVR
Denon 1802 AVR
Phillips DVP642 DVD player

I'll also be buying a new DVD player in the near future after my Denon 2900 recently quit working. Haven't made a decision yet, but I'm leaning towards an Oppo Digital 971.

Budget for the new remote is $150 or under. All components are out in the open so no need for RF.

Try squeezing a little more in your remote budget and buy an MX-850 from here:

Ask (thru an e-mail) if they are having any specials. You can usually get one for a lot less than MSRP.

There is also Damon at www.proremotes.com He is a smaller operation and might be able to offer better personal service

Also Mike at www.surfremote.com
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

Theoretically, since you don't need RF, you could go with the MX-700. Mike @ Surf Remote still sells them for about $150. The 850 is an overall better remote...better backlight, center select button, better feel, but the 700 would still work. The one nice thing about the 850 is that you still have the opportunity to add an RF basestation if you ever decided that you want it.
LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!
