I'm sick of multiple remotes but have no idea what will work for me. Right now I use the remote for my Toshiba RD-XS32SU DVD recorder with cable tv input (no box) for tv viewing and recording/viewing/editing (done with on-screen menus). I use my Denon AV5-1804 tuner's remote for sound. The Toshiba and my Denon CD deck and Denon tape deck run thru the tuner. (From the tuner signal runs to a projector, but I'm okay with its remote.) Oh, and there's a JVC VHS which also runs thru the tuner. I really don't want to drop $400-500+ for this, would prefer to spend around $200.

If you like hard buttons (which was a must for me) go for the Home Theater master mx-850. I absolutely love it and can do anything with it. any amount of macros, button customization you could think of, and the LCD label screen allows whatever you can imagine. I also hear great things about the harmony 880.

I'd go for the URC over the Harmony. Better reliability and a higher level of customization. You can get it from www.surfremote.com for a little over $200. Or you could go down to the MX-700, it's a bit older, no RF, and doesn't have quite the same feel, but it's still a great remote.

The only drawback with the MX-850 is no variables, which makes programming devices with only power toggles a bit difficult. All Harmonies come with variables, but the programming is a bit restrictive and much different.
