Hi All,

We have a tv remote problem here... The placement of out HDTV recorder terminal cause some problems because the original remote signal have a lot of difficulty to reach the terminal sensor... And we cannot change the remote placement.

As our PS3 Bluetooth remote work like a charm, my idea is to get a bluetooth universal remote with a hub that I will be placed in front of the terminal...

Is it a good idea and which universal remote system can I use for that?

thanks a lot to all!!

Eric

Not aware of any Bluetooth solutions, but there are plenty of RF home theater remotes intended for this.

RF stands for Radio Frequency, signal goes through walls, ou don't need a line of sight like standard IR( Infra-red) remotes.

Why would he help further? Perhaps English is not your native language, but that response came off as incredibly rude. Google is your friend. Look things up and you will find all your answers.

Sorry, you are right English is not my primary language... Sorry for my involuntary rudeness... Really sorry... In french, telling this to someone is just a simple way to ask for clarification sorry...

Ok, I understand by the answers here that I have no need to go with Bluetooth but with RF universal remote?

But, How it works... RF universal remote come with RF to IR hub or something?

Thanks
Eric

Yes. This is the standard method for "non-line-of-sight" remote control. A more modern version is to use WiFi (on expensive remotes), and actually the forthcoming Pronto/Pulse smartphone control actually does use Bluetooth.

However, from a usage standpoint, if you're only interested in controlling standard IR devices without having to aim, then all three technologies will do the exact same job.
