I'm looking for a remote for my dad. Cost should around $200. The remote needs to be user friendly for him to setup, should control minimum of TV, Cable box, DVD, VCR, Receiver, CD player. It would be nice to have larger buttons for him to use as well as a nice screen (touch is great, but not essential). This remote would be for the average retired person with a limited tech background that doesn't use all the "fancy" things us younger ones crave. Just the simple, basic, repetitive remote with a few advanced capabilities (i.e. programming VCR, etc..). I've looked at many of the reviews and threads here and just want some personal input. Any advise is appreciated and wanted! Thanks.

Sounds like a Harmony Remote, easy to program, and quite a few models to choose from.
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
