I have an aging Philips TSU6000 and I'm beginning to worry about its lifespan since some of the hard buttons are getting wobbly. Any thoughts on what would be a similar replacement?

The TouchSquid tablet makes a great replacement for a Pronto. I have had mine for a while now, and in addition to a very good remote app, it handles web surfing and email.

I can even watch Netflix right on the razor-sharp 7" LCD screen.

The price is lower than any Pronto, even most used ones. They are available at RemoteShoppe and SimpleRemoteControl, maybe a few other places.

The developers are very responsive and have added features requested by several users.  IconHarmony.com is opening up a TouchSquid section which will eventually offer a huge selection of TS compatible icons.

The TouchSquid is still new, and the software has been evolving rapidly.  One of the big advantages over a Pronto or Harmony is the ability to same multiple room profiles. This makes the TouchSquid portable between rooms.

With Wifi and Bluetooth it is also an excellent small computer. I don't play games, but apparently they work well and there is a huge selection available.

I do watch YouTube on it sometimes -- only cute dog vidoes of course!
How many remotes do you have?

Pdwolfe, just be honest about working for TouchSquid. And btw, Pronto's could handle multi-room systems just fine and get 2-way feedback.

I would recommend upgrading to a Philips Pronto Professional TSU9600. While Philips has discontinued the Pronto line it is very easy to pick up a used TSU9600 and either of the RFX9x00 extenders in like new condition on EBay for a fraction of the cost they were retailing for.

I agree with the Pronto Pro 9600 advice. I've had a TSU7000 for 8 years and it's standing on one leg and beginning to look outdated. I have monitored Ebay for TSU9600s over the last couple months and you can score one for <$500 in very good condition. The RF Extender will run an addtn'l $200-400 depending on if you can find a listing together or have to buy separately. There is also a strong liking of the TSU 9400 and those sell for more than the 9600, typically on Ebay.
Good luck!

I work for TouchSquid. As far as I know, I'm the only employee posting here.

In addition to the TouchSquid Tablet we make an Android app that runs on phones and tablets of any make. It requires an external blaster such as the Global Cache. This sells on the Android market and Amazon.

Our web site has all the information.

Tstech, welcome to RC, and thanks for being upfront about who you work for. That being said, your post, just like the one here from pdwolfe, doesn't fit the needs of the OP. His old remote has hard buttons that are worn out, and he wants something similar, your remote has NO hard buttons, just a touchscreen, and it's larger than the Pronto he had.

As far as calling pdwolfe out, he came on, made 3 quick posts promoting your product, then disapeared. And none of the post really answered what the OP's wanted help with. Thats typical salesman approach to forums.
