I currently have several RCA RCU810 remotes. I have been using them along with my old parallel JP1 cable for at least 10 years. It's time for a change since some of the buttons aren't working anymore. I have taken them apart and cleaned them and put contact ink on the buttons, etc. They just are on their last leg.
All I want in a remote is an inexpensive, JP1 remote for 4 devices that is backlit. My dream feature would be to have the backlight light up whenever I picked up or moved the remote? Is there such a thing?

Thanks in advance, now I just have to learn how to use all the JP1 programming tools again!

The cheapest JP1 backlit remote is the Atlas 1056B01/B03 series used by a number of cable companies, and generally available for $15 or so on the net. (EBay).  Those are 5 device remotes (the B03 is internally 8 devices, but we haven't fully wrung out interacting via JP1 yet.  There are some others, and you would probalby get more responses at [Link: hifi-remote.com].   I don't know of any JP1 remtoes that turn on the back light from motion.

The JP1 tools (RMIR) is very easy to use, and works under Windows, MAc,and Linux.
