My husband has had a stroke that resulted in partial paralysis and cognitive defects. TV is about the only thing he enjoys anymore, but the remote control is beyond him. I've bought a couple of big-button remotes, but the simple ones do not have "guide" buttons and many use the circle-type up-down-left-right selectors - something else he has trouble understanding.
He was always the one who handled the tech-y stuff, so I'm pretty overwhelmed. Our "wish list" of features would include:
Big buttons or a touch screen with very large icons Buttons or icons for on/off, guide, channel up-down Very few buttons or ability to hide features he doesn't need Balanced for ease of use with one hand Able to control tv and DirecTV - don't need to control other devices
I'd appreciate any and all advice!
