Could someone please share the recommendations on which remote to get. I currently have a URC MX-850 and like it, but I need it to control Z-wave lighting switches. I am wondering which remote is currently for sale that does this.

What did you end up getting? I am in the same boat. I want a quality home theater remote like the Mx-800 but need basic z-wave control as well.

I have not been able to find anything, especially when you add the fact that many remotes require being "primamry". That would mean I would have to reprogram everything to a remote and then use my 2Gig alarm panel as secondary (if it can even do that).

I still have no solution.

Leviton Vizia RF Plug-in Serial Interface Module RS232

You would still need to purchase a URC Base Station that outputs RS-232.

The URC MSC-400 would work nicely with this. However, only capable of ONE-WAY serial. Would be great if a controller were able to execute ip commands to control z-wave.

I have a Harmony 890 and can control my Zwave devices natively. It's a great remote for the price.. RF/IR/Zwave all-in-one.

Works great.
