I have and a URC MX-900 remote, which I love. It's vastly superior to the Harmony remotes I've used in the past and anything else I've used, but I've run into limitations that I think will be improved in other remotes. For example, I often would like to have more than 6 self-labeled soft buttons. I get around this by programming with variables and different functions depending on how long the button is held. I also like the flexibility and aesthetics of some of the newer remotes with programmable color graphics and sound. As far as URC's lineup goes, I am considering the MX-950, MX-980, and MX-3000. I'm not as familiar with Pronto, RTI, ... and am uncertain if they'd be a better fit or offer more bang for the buck, so I'm looking for recommendations. I'm more concerned with value than price. Part of that value would involve having to swap out my two RF basestations, if I switched from URC, but this cost may or may not be negligible compared to the remote.

My essential requirements are:
-PC programmable with software that I can own (I am a professional programmer and can easily handle any degree of complexity... I'd actually find programming/updating it more fun if it was more complex, filled with ways I could continually improve it)
-All remote buttons programmable
-At least 8 self-labeled soft buttons (10+ is better)
-Able to control at least 12 devices (15+ is better)
-RF with remote stations
-Compatible with Lutron RadioRA (currently using RA-IR with my URC)
-Macros with at least 15 steps and programmable time delay
-Able to learn IR

Things that would be nice to have, but are not essential:
-Programmable color graphics & sounds
-Wireless Internet connection
-If/else programming, variables, press-hold, loops, etc...
-Additional home automation control options, two-way feedback, or similar useful functionality
-Enough hard buttons or graphical area to match the number of one-press buttons of my MX-900
-I prefer the style of the Phillips TSU9400, RTI-T3 or similar with a color graphical display on top and hard buttons on bottom to any of the URC models

Well, since you can't have the software for RTI, then I would suggest you go with Pronto.
