I am probably asking for a lot, but I am looking for a universal remote to control an 4 devices.
First and foremost, a HTPC (XBMC which will use a MCE Remote, I have an RC6 IR dongle and remote to learn from if necessary)
I also have the remotes from my three other components:
Samsung Plasma (PN63C8000) Samsung 3D Bluray (BDC6900) Yamaha Receiver (RXV596)
But the big requirement is that I want back lighting on all the buttons and I don't want to spend more than $100...
I am tactile and prefer hard buttons over LCD. And I would like the ability to learn commands.
The best I have found is actually the HP Mediasmart Connect remote, but it only controls on-off and volume of my receiver and I couldn't find a code for my bluray player (though strangely I found a fully functional TV code). Hoping for something a bit better, but as far as full backlighting goes it was perfect.
In the way out there, speaking of HTPC/IPTV remotes. Other than the boxee remote, Tivo Slide and the Motorola NYXBoard do any other remotes have a full qwerty keyboard? Any that have both a KB and some sort of gyro/airmouse with backlighting? There was a lenovo keyboard/trackball controller but it was black and useless in the dark with no backlighting, and a couple of other devices that didn't look like remotes at all.
The first that I've seen is the Philips uWand (was called DUAL at one point in time.) but no idea when that will be released.
Any thing else out there do something like above? Perhaps using a touch screen as a trackpad for mouse movement?
