Hey guys,

I’d love a bit of advice here

My kids have just broken my harmony one
Which I bought after they broke the (now discontinued) harmony 895 (so badly missed due to the IR blasters - which the Harmony One doesn’t have)
Which I bought after they broke the previous 895
Before that I had a couple of URC models and remember being impressed with the built quality (mx-850 maybe?).

See a pattern emerging here … Logitech’s remotes aren’t built to take a fall and my kids are way too rough with remotes

So I need a remote that has a similar feature set to the above remotes that’s most importantly

a)Durable
b)IR blasting and
c)preferably has a charging cradle (but that’s not a deal breaker)

any ideas

many thanks eske

URC remotes are durable and cost effective. However, what is your skill level in programming URC remotes (you mentioned that you had an MX-850. Did you program it?)

On a budget, the MX-350 is great and programmable without a computer.
I prefer the MX-880 with color screen but it requires knowledge of URC's software.
Both of these remotes can utilize URC's RF transceiver's either the MRF-260 or my prefered, the MRF-350. This would give you either blaster capability or individual IR emitter bugs.

thanks for the info TNichols2594

I'd already caved in and got another Harmony but the 900 this time with the ir blasters (logitech gave me a few quid off after I explained how many of their remotes I've burned through in the last few years)

It does the trick but isn't as durable as the URCs
Can't remember if I programmed the old URC MX-850 - might have just learned all the necessary codes from old remotes.
But I'm taking note of your reply in evernote just in case the 900 end up in pieces
cheers
