I have just purchased a PS3 and was told it has no IR port so it's remote will use bluetooth. Is there a remote that will support PS3 & other devices?

I don't think there's a remote that controls the PS3 directly. See this thread for the discussion on the issue. Go to one of the last posts and there's a link where somebody was able to make an adapter that works off of the PS2 IR remote.
