Hello,

I have a HTPC running Windows 7 64 bit and it is located remotely so requires an RF link. I am running mostly Windows Media Center 7 and sometimes Boxee. I have a Samsung LED TV and would like a remote with the following features:

Primarly RF using USB dongle
Does not require special drivers
Windows Media Center Compatible
Backlighting
IR with learn mode so I can assign one button to turn the TV on and off
Does not require alpha keyboard
Prefer able to operate it with one hand
Prefer no touch screen that might drain battery quickly

Here is what I have tried so far:

Logitech Dinovo Mini - Requires 2 hands, D-pad has a flaw that makes it frustrating to use sometime where it mouse clicks instead of moves the cursor. This is a flaw that they have admitted to. Also this is not really a one hand remote and it is not really ideal for media center and I still need to keep the TV remote around to turn on the TV

Snapstream Firefly Remote - No backlight, software for Firefly must be running for it to work, the software has a bug that makes some buzzing in the speakers when it starts up. No IR ability so I still need to keep the TV remote around

Logitech Harmony Remotes
- These seem to function very slowly.  There is a noticible lag and when you are trying to page through hundreds of videos you need a snappy remote.  I was disappointed with these units.

Various Android Apps - No IR, No buttons (nice to have hard buttons) and requires the phone have wifi turned on and be linked to server software.

I have tried looking online myself but it seems like everything I have found is missing some feature or is not compatible with Windows 7 or has bad reviews.

Also the selection tool on this site needs to be updated. There is no way to look for an RF remote that I could see. I am not looking for an RF to IR remote. I want a pure RF remote with a IR on it too for the TV on/off. If not perhaps someone knows how I can turn my Samsung UN55B7000 thought HDMI.

Thanks!

Noomster
