so I have 2 buttons on my 880 that do not work, my pause button and one of the 6 lcd buttons. I have reprogrammed my pause button, but I can't gain use of the 1 lcd button.

so my question is would the R50 be able to control all my equipment with built in codes in the database?

I have the following:
TV: Samsumg HL-T6176S
Receiver: Yamaha V-Rx1800
DirecTv box: HR21 HD Dvr box
BluRay: Panasonic dmp-bd30

I use activities with the Harmony and like I can add macros to the R50 pressing one button to do multiple tasks is a MUST for me

I'd love to have an RF remote but its not a Priority at the moment and the wife would NOT let me spend that kind of money.

just being in the backyard and able to control the music from back there would be GREAT. would I be able to add an RF dealio to to R50 in the future and control my system from in the backyard?

thanks for taking the time to read this and help me out

EDIT:I just got wind of the monster AVL300-S
[Link: amazon.com]
it looks like it does everything the R50 does but it is RF capable...

Second EDIT: I have in my living room two ceiling fans with lights and 2 end tables with lights. any possible way to use the Monster AVL300 with RF to control my ceiling fans and use an X10 controller for my 2 end table lights?

well I pulled the plug on the Monster AVL-300s today I paid $3.99 for next day air shipping so I should see it tomorrow.

1.RF capabilities
2. Z-wave I plan on getting some dimmers and wall outlets

this remote is the cheapest bang for my buck at the moment and the deal is too good to pass up. maybe one day I'll graduate and drop $$$$$ on a remote, but for now the AVL-300S should serve me well

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

Will do, I am not expecting this to be a walk in the park from some of the reviews I have read, but I am determined to get it dialed in the way I like it. good thing I have a long 3 day weekend ahead of me :)

I figure the monster cable remote MIGHT be on par with the harmony build quality which is "NOT" the best brand of remote, but it does work fine for LOTS of people and what I am going to be using it for it should suite me well

If you are done with your 880 I would love to take the broken one off your hands, I need some spare parts to repair a broken one I have.

Trying to help a friend that has the harmony 550 and a samsung HLT-6176sx. We cannot get the remote to switch the TV or the samsung HT-TX72 receiver to the correct inputs. I was wondering if you still had the setup that was working for your HLT-6176? Also, I was able to setup one video source to the TV using the help button, but then it switches the TV through about three inputs until it reaches the one I programmed as correct with the help menu. Is that the way it normally works as I am not the sharpest tack in the box, but yes/no questions from the remote should be within my reach.

Rick, the op had an 880, not a 550. I doubt they set up the same. Also note that he never followed up with how his new remote works, so I doubt he'll be answering your questions.

You would be better off starting a new post in the Harmony section of the forums.
