My MX-800 is losing it's luster. Several buttons don't work and the select pad has intermittent problems. I use it with the MRF-200 blaster.

The MX-800 has been OK, but I had to bribe my home theatre guy to get the program disc and it is not what I would consider user friendly to configure. I want something that is easy to configure.

Need some info...
1. Will any IR/RF remote work with the MRF-200 blaster?
2. Need some recommendations on replacements for the MX-800?

I just got a new NXG RM802 remote, which is a rebadged MX-850, to supplement my MX-700. You can download the software to program the RM802 from the NXG web site. My existing MXF file from my MX-700 was loaded into the new NXGG RM802 remote with no problem.

The RM802 is both IR and RF, just like the MX-800. It should work with your MRF-200 blaster (I doubt that non URC /NXG remotes will work though).

I got the remote from Amazon for <$165.

aa6vh - Thanks for the recommendation. I will do some research on the RM802.

My apologies. Must have been an attack of Dyslexia. The model name should have been "NXG RM820".
