Well I finally upgraded my old AVR to the str-dn1000. As many of you probably know, the Tivo peanut won't control this AVR. All I want is volume, which the peanut did just fine with my old AVR.
Now I'm trying to find a Tivo like remote that will do this. I'm wondering if the Glo can do it but I've not seen any mention of it whatsoever.
I'm also not keen on the AV1/AV2 switch thing, as I'd prefer that the OEM remote continue to work with the amp (my understanding is that switching the AV1/AV2 command mode will enable the Tivo remote to work at the expense of making the Sony remote not usable for volume any more).

Well since I didn't get any answers i went ahead and bought the Glo.
Fantastic and since it's a learning remote it works great with the str-dn1000. I now have volume and input switching through the AVR with the Tivo remote.
