I'm looking for a universal remote with a CC button. It only really needs to work with the tv. I do have the original tv remote, but some of the buttons don't work, even after cleaning it. I wouldn't even mind going through the menu to turn it on/off, but I don't think there IS even a way to do that.
We don't need a lot of options- the only thing that I need that hasn't been on other basic (ie, under $20) UR's is a CC button. I can go a bit higher in price, but ideally under $30ish.

Are there any I could look for?
Thanks for any advice!

Almost any learning universal remote will work if your original remote still has a working CC button. If the original CC button isn't working, then you can use nearly any remote made by UEI, and specifically program a button to send the CC command.

The OneForAll URC-8820 has a CC button. About $17 at Amazon.

The RCA RCRP05B is $20 at Best Buy. It doesn't have a button labeled CC, but if you tell us your TV model, we can tell you how to program CC onto, say, the PIP input button, or any button you like.

Or if you have a Comcast, or Time Warner or Cox, etc. cable remote, we can program that too.

Oh, good to know! The CC button does work on the original remote. So we just need to look for a package that states that it's a "learning" remote?

Thanks so much!

eta- my boyfriend recently bought an RCA NaviLight6 (CRCR660, if that matters). We just opened it, but were going to return it because the battery that came in it leaked acid. We had tried it before discovering this, and I couldn't get a lot of the buttons to work, such as the "menu" and "sleep" buttons.

I don't suppose this remote would work for CC, right? There is a button called "swap/subtitle" but it did nothing.

Sorry, I don't know anything about that remote, but it doesn't appear to be a learning remote. Depending on your TV, a universal may or may not provide all of the functions. That's why I like the remotes I mentioned above--unlike most remotes, each button can be programmed individually. For example, many universals can control the power, volume and channel functions of a Vizio TV, but won't work the arrow keys. It's very easy to add those functions to the remotes I mentioned. We'll tell you what numbers to enter, if you tell us the model of the TV.

The other thing to realize is that RCA is just a brand these days. They no longer make anything. So one model of RCA remote may not be related (other than by logo) to another RCA model.
