Hello,
I will be doing an install in a 2 bedroom condo & need advice on the
remotes. Heres the setup.....
Living Room - 2 Stacked 46" Samsung LCD
Master - 40" above LCD
Guest - 40" LCD

Equipment in a rack centrally located....
HD DVR Cable Box Motorola
HD Cable Box Motorola
PS3 Slim
Sony DN-1000 Reciever
APC H15 Power Conditioner
Monoprice 4x4 HDMI Matrix Switch
Nintendo Wii

I will be be running HDMI over Cat 6 via the Monoprice HDMI over Cat 6 Wall plate to each tv location.

The plan is to be able to watch both cable boxes, ps3 & wii in any room.
I will be getting a Component to HDMI to be able to have the wii in every room.

What would be the best remotes? I was thinking a MX-3000 for living room & a MX-810 for master. Dont know which one to get for the guest.

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appriciated. Thank you!!!!!

Other than the possibilities of HDMI hell it sounds like you are on the right track.

Are you using emitters on the TV's or line of sight IR for them? If you are using line of sight IR then you can probably get away with an RF base station like the mrf-350. If you have emitters at each TV you might want to move up to the msc-400.

I like the MX-810/880. I would make them match in the master and guest bedroom. Any reason you dont want the same remote in the living room? Have you looked at the new MX-6000?

I would skip the MX-3000 and go with the MX-6000 or, if the MX-6000 isnt an option i would do MX-810 or 880's in every room.

hdmi hell haha

i might just run straight hdmi cables instead of cat 6 i dont know.

customer ended up buying 1 810 on ebay new for $109 shipped so we will use that & dont know if we should just stay with the 810s all the way arround or different remotes.

he does not want to spend money on the 6000 so thats out.

i was thinking of pairing it with the mrf-350 & 260....will they both work togethor? thanks

The MRF 350 and 260 are both decent solutions.

Personally, I hate the 810, but thats mainly b/c of the programming method, I feel way limited and it takes longer to just do what needs done.

Also, STAY AWAY FROM THE MX3000, The remote is just a PITA, the software sucks compared to what you can do with a 980 or even 880. If budget is such concern, I probably would have suggested 880's in both rooms. The programming will be nearly identical and would make the project less expensive, quicker and easier to enjoy.

Good luck. I'm curious how all this Monocrap stuff works out for you. let us know.
do wino hue?

why do you say monocrap? lol i have used them manyyyyyyy times with no problems. you cant beat the quality for that price along with the customer support.

im just curious.....i know there are better solutions but for budget systems that dont need a $1,000 matrix switch i dont see the problem? thanks for the input....
