I'm being stupid and picking based on looks....I like being able to see pictures of "XBOX,PS3,TV,etc." in little icon format however I don't watch much tv so setting TV favorites will be useless since I won't have cable in a few months. But also give me the cheaper alternative that doesn't have that I guess...

I like the MX-450, MX-810 and Harmony one. I require IR repeater or RF, something to stop coffee table from blocking a signal to a my equipment....I will be about 9 ft from my equipment.

I have a:
1) Panasonic 46 Inch G10 2009 version
2) PS3 Slim
3) Xbox 360 (used as an HTPC media center repeater as well)
4) Onkyo 707 Reciever (all connected to this)
5) Time Warner cable Box by Scientific American I think

I realize i'll need to buy a PS3 bluetooth thing. So a recommendation on that would be great as well. I want my remote to be able to power on and off my PS3, navigate up down menus and run basic commands on blue ray movies I play.

I don't know whether or not I need an IR extender or RF (not even sure how RF works and if need RF compatible devices). I do have a coffee table blocking IR view to my devices so I need something like a repeater or RF so I dont have to raise my hand. The lower cost option will be better but I don't wanna go with IR if there's bugginess to it.

Thanks for helping me.

I'd like to stay around 200 for the remote alone...unless your going to say that there's value for me over 200.

Thanks.

I dont know much about other brands other than UR and Logitech. If there's something I should consider please post it. Also, a remote I dont have to learn a new programming language would be great as well.

Also, if I have to buy an RF blaster or something like an IR repeater, let me know what model you recommend. I'm clueless! :)

URC RFS200 should do it, depending on your SA cable box. What model is it?

That thing is ugly, looks like something you'd buy at kmart! What else do you have? Something either with a color screen or with no screen but looks modern like a logitech. Logitech might be cheap plastic, but the Harmony One looks like an expensive tool.

I'm thinking R50 or MX-450.

I guess what it boils down to then the following questions, do the answers change for the R50 vs MX-450

1) What PS3 bluetooth adaptor would I go with? Will both remotes allow me to navigate PS3 menus and blue ray discs like just like the Xbox controller?

2) What RF beacon would you recommend for the MX-450 and what IR relay would you recommend for the R50? What's the price difference?

3) How hard is the MX-450 to program really? Is there a thread with instructions?

4) What else am I missing besides the better "finish" on the MX-450?

The R50 is powerful and a steal for what it costs online, but you do lose out on the possibility of RF or computer programming. The MX-450 you mentioned is essentially the same remote, but with RF.

The MX-810 you also mentioned is a different design, but it does have RF and USB. The MX-880 is the same as the MX-810, and my preference of the two due to the software. However it's likely out of your price range - but try calling a dealer such as Surf Remote and see what they can do.

Logitech remotes are unbeatable at the price for what they offer BUT you have to be OK with doing things its way.

There's also a new Xsight Touch remote in your price range however I haven't used it yet.

The reviews are a little mixed, but I find it very good for the money.

Basic set up is very simple and quick - though make sure you keep your fingers away from the touchscreen when you insert the battery. I fumbled it a little and found the language set to Danish - navigating my way out of that was the longest part of the whole process.
