have a htpc. and im looking to buy the perfect remote. Suggestions would be greatly APPRECIATED!! ive researched for weeks now and i just can't seem to find the right remote.

needs to have remote desktop connection ability to see the screen of the htpc. touchscreen.
ability to control upto 12 devices, reciever, lights, dvd etc.. macros a plus.

tablets are fine, remotes, umpc's?

ability to move mouse, right click left click...

what can a guy get into thats small, powerfull enough and will allow for on screen viewing of htpc?

backlite keys

RF so i can use it between walls, outside by the fireplace etc..

basically what i'm looking for is a logitech dinovo mini OR LOGITECH HARMONY 1000 with the ability to have a touch screen and be able to see htpc and control it.

Thank You.

I am not familiar with anything like that at all at this time. The only way to see the screen of a PC remotely is with another PC (like a tablet PC with remote access and control). That's all I can think of.

I'm searching for the same.

I've not found anything yet but the iPad will be a possible contender once it integrates an IR/RF receiver. There are several other tablets that may be able to do this shortly...ie, the Samsung Galaxy...?

If you find anything please post.

I find that many of the customers I have that want what your asking are extremely happy with ipad control.

Every CI who offers i-control has thier own go to company. I think an ipad will allow you to do alot of what your looking for even if you have to go outside of the control app to do it.

With the introduction of airplay and airplay ready devices I think it would serve you well.

Good luck,
Vincent
