Here is what I have to control:

DirecTV HR20-700 HD-DVR Satellite Receiver
SonySTR-DG720 Stereo Receiver
Xbox 360
RCA DVD Player
Samsung 50" Plasma HDTV

I currently have a Harmony 360 Remote which controls everything BUT the DTV Receiver. I use the RC64RB remote to control DirecTV.

I send a second output of the DTV receiver to my bedroom on the 2nd story of our house. The main viewing room (and equipment) are in the basement. This way, I can record things on the DVR and watch them either in the main viewing room or in our bedroom. To accomplish this, I use RF mode on the DTV Receiver and have two RC64RB remotes (one in the basement and the other in the bedroom).

The problem is: Because I have to use RF mode for the DTV, I can't control it with my Harmony 360.

My Sony A/V receiver is IR only.

So, I have to use the RC64RB remote for DTV and the Harmony 360 for everything else.

Is there an affordable remote that would work (i.e., send both IR and RF signals)? Or, is there a 'remote extender' type device that would convert an RF to IR or vice-versa?

Sorry if this is confusing...I'm confused just typing it!

Any advice? Maybe I'm missing something easy????

You can use the new Nevo C3, it will talk to the DirecTV receiver's RF since UEI makes both remotes.
We have two ends with a common link,

Thanks but that looks pretty expensive ($300). I was hoping for something more in the sub-$100 range. Maybe I'm dreaming ;-)

Would a solution possibly be to go back to IR on my DTV receiver and then use an IR-RF-IR extender to send the signal from my bedroom through the house to the basement? I found www.smarthome.com/8045I/IR-to-RF-to-IR-Remote-Control-Range-Extender-Kit-433-MHz/p.aspx online.  I could then use the Harmony 360 to control all my devices via IR signal.

You could do that.
