I'm looking for a IR Device to Turn on an off-brand projector during a Holiday Display. I'm pretty sure one of the Pronto will do the trick. But, not wanting to spend that cash for a simple on/off controller. It only has to do one device.. thanks.

So does this "device" come with a remote? And if so, why do you need another? Otherwise, where will you find the IR code? What, specifically, is this off-brand projector so we can scour the IR databases of the world?

It's a GHS Brand, off of Ebay. Yes it has a remote. But, I need one with a timer to turn the unit on at a certain time.

I dont know of any remotes that have a built in timer for triggering the projector at a specific time. You will need something that works with a Processor that allows you to schedule events.

When you plug the projector in does it turn on or is it in standby? Some products turn on right away. If the projector does this then you could get a cheapo Timer like you would use with exterior lights.

how good are you with a soldering iron...?
