I didnt think this would be complicated but it is for dummies. I dont have a clue which to buy ?

I have a ceiling projector.(infocus) and all my components are hidden behind the cabinets which are behind a wall which I dont see from my seating position...
Has to be RF
Control my projector.
Color touch screen display.
Under $500
One I can program at home not run to a dealer every time.
MOst importantly I wanna be able to use all the functions on pvr satellite dish especially the slow mo buttons to watch replays.

Eye candy looks would be nice but not neccessary...
I was thinking of pronto or harmony 900 or maybe the one of the URC's remotes...
If the remote does not do the slow mo features of the pvr satellite dish it is of no use for me.

Go with the more expensive URC MX-880. I'm loving it. It does not have a "touch screen", but to me the best remotes have a good balance of buttons and screen space. I've been enjoying this remote very much. I had an MX-700 previously. If the dealer supplies you with the software (which they should) you can do all the programming yourself. One thing this remote is missing, a charge cradle!

Don't let the bolded misleading statement make you believe you have any right to the professional level SW. URC allows their dealers the option to provide it to you, nothing more. Dealers are not obligated to give you SW.

Help a dinosaur out here guys...

Harmony 900 vs URC MX-980 which is the better remote control for my above needs in the first post.
Is there a website out there that compares remotes to one another.

The URC MX980 won't meet your $500-or-less criteria, but will be the better choice between the two IMO.

Thanks Joe
I also found out by calling urc that a dealer has to program my remote...Thats a deal breaker for me besides I dont wanna spend $800 on a remote cause I would need to rf 350's.

harmony 900 Im reading has no macro ( WTF) I went to my neighbors who is a high tech guy this remote sucks components 15 feet away behind the wall in a glass cabinet thats 5 feet in the air remote works on an off...Remote was exchanged same old and hes's got each component plugged in to convert the IR signal..

I had so much fun building 2 theatre rooms one for me and the kids and I thought remote would be simplest thing to find...IS there any otherr reliable Rf remote that works consistantly without spending more than $500.00..

I sure hope hope harmony reads the comments on its own website every single review on the first page has the same issues as my tech willie neighbor.

Please refer to post #4....

...as far as the msrp 80 goes. Yes $800 is steep, especially when another consideration in comparison is a Harmony product. However what I can tell you is, I paid far less than the full sticker price for my 980, and it is well worth every penny.

Understood, but the store where the customer purchases the remote should be notified about programming prior to purchasing the remote. If the customer doesn't know then he doesn't know what to ask for. Hopefully the sales guy isn't going to let the guy go home and find out too late. It only hurts URC and the dealer in the long run with prices. The customer just gets his money back.

That's good to know... I'd hate to buy a programmable remote that I'm "not allowed" to program.

My customers shop with me because they have the option of programming the remote themselves (we DO provide the updateable Editor software) OR we can do the programming for them to give them a foundation to refer to.

You're not going to find a quality color touchscreen remote for under $500, but the MX-880 is the best color LCD option for your budget. For the regular price, we'd throw in some programing, if you'd like to take advantage of that special.
