I'm thinking of getting a UR. I would like to control the following:
Samsung A40L530
Onkyo TXSR705
Onkyo C-390
Denon 1940ci
Kenwood tape deck (can't remember model but it's old)
( I also have a Sony VCR and Pioneer DVD recorder, but I don't need to control those with a UR as far as I know)
I'm looking for something that does NOT have a huge learning curve, tiny buttons, indented or flush buttons.

I do desire: ease of use/program, LCD screen, backlight, normal buttons, a layout that makes sense and good battery life as well as the ablility to use rechargables.
I'm not worried about shape and other cosmetics.

Right now I am looking at the R50, Harmony 620 or Harmony 670 as those seem to be the best in my price range (around $100 or less is better)
Are there any things I should know about thees models or any other models I should consider?

After much research I have decided that getting a UR will not benefit me. They are more trouble than they are worth. My money is better spent on Blank media, DVD cases, Pre-recorded DVDs to watch, etc.

Did this "research" involve a trip to Wal-Mart?

The op can't wrap his head around spending more than $50 on a universal. He's got this same thread going at AVS.

I'd also look at Logitech Harmony 900. It's better to spend some cash now on a universal remote, rather than juggling 7/8 remotes. I doubt it that you can get a good Universal remote for $50. Still, check this one out..
