I am looking for a remote that will control two different DVR's, plus the normal A/V items. We have a Philips 37" LCD HDTV to which is attached a Comcast DVR and a Hughes 40GB DirecTV Tivo DVR. My wife will be the primary user of the remote, so its operation needs to be intuitive. I understand that I could pay a few hundred dollars and get one that would do the job, but I would like a recommendation for a suitable one, reliable and least expensive.

Try Universal's MX-700 or better yet an MX-850. Relatively easy to program with a computer.
feed a dog and he will not bite you. this is the principal difference between a man and a dog. Mark Twain
