I currently use a Firefly remote that came with my GE Force graphic card.

It uses Beyond Media, which I hate because it is slow and crashes often.

I downloaded XBMC but its difficult to figure out how to configure it to the remote.

I have the PC connected to a Rear projection HDTV via a DVI cable.

I figured out how to add the XBMC profile to use the remote control , however I dont know how to set the remote to open up XBMC instead of Beyond Media .

Also, I dont understand how to get XBMC to load or find thumbnails and coverart for my music and movies and tv shows, it just says "no tumbnail" now, even though the online manual says it has a "GET THUMBS" option to retreve them..i cant find it anywhere in the settings.

3rd issue...I cannot get my HDTV to correctly center the screen without cutting off the bottom part or the top. In the computer the only setting that it will take is 720 res, , or the PC LCD will go OUT OF RANGE.

The HDTV can handle 720I and 1024P ( I think this is right)

I have the video card and HDTV both in CLONE mode now


I basiclly want to just be able to view my music, movies and tv shows on the HDTV using the remote control.

Any help please??

Start calling your tech supports, first XBMC, then whoever makes your projector.
