I have a Harmony 1000 but do not really like it due to the fact that you always’s switching screens. Pretty much and touch screen I guess would be like this. I also have the Moster AV 100. I like this remote but I just wish I could tweek things a little more and get it to work a little better. (typical Harmony I would guess).

The Remote that I am looking for would be a more hard button control. But I need it to have Rf Capabilities because all my components will be behind doors. Also I would like to be able to control lights and a pc in the future.

I have done no programming in my life so I have no idea what to do there. So I will need to have a program help me through it. But I do not need to be lead by the hand all the way, all the time. (Typical Harmony)

I do not like the look of the Harmony 890 and the buttons are way to small. So this is not an option.

I have looked into getting some one or a company to do a remote for me and they just keep adding up and get more and more expensive. So far I am looking at getting an RTI remote through a company and it is going to cost me $1500 for a remote. This is just getting crazy. Plus that I will require 2 of them. Also when I go to add new equipment they said it is $95 an hour to reprogram it. I currently do not have all my equipment that I want and I do not want to be spending money after money reprogramming once I add more equipment.

I have herd many suggestions to go with a urc mx-900, Just a couple of things I am not sure I like about the remote setup. I like the setup of the mx-880 better. I currently do not have a company here in Calgary, Ab, Canada that I have found that sells it. So I might have to but it on line any suggestions? I have tried looking at supplyremotecentral.com but they do not ship to Canada.

A lot of possibilities out there also the Philips pronto I was thinking about the tsu 9200. I have herd that it is easier to program. I really do not know which way to go.

I have tried the remote selector and I get the same thing every time pretty much, but I do not know how easy they are to program once I get them.

Components to control will be:

Living Room (Room 1)
Tv
Harmon Kardon Avr 445
PVR Box
DVD Player (future Blu Ray)
Xbox 360
Future Satalite Reciever
Maybe future Computer

Theatre Room (Room 2)

Projector
Denon 4308 CI
PVR Box
DVD Player (future Blu Ray)
Future Satalite Reciever
Future Computer
Xbox 360

Both rooms are simple systems that can be controlled by several products. What level of control are you looking for? If you want complete customization & finessing you will need a professional product. For the professional products i would guestimate the low end would be $1000.00 (USD) per room. Thats hardware + basic programming.

RTI is a dealer only product. They do not sell directly to the public. Universal remote control or URC has a professional and a consumer line. The 900 and 880 that you mentioned are professional products and require you to purchase them thru a dealer.

These products are meant to be programmed and installed by a dealer. Because of this your access to programming instructions, software, updates warranty service are thru the dealer.

What some guys do is they pay the professional for the installation & ask for the software. They teach themselves how to update the remote. This way they dont have to figure it all out on there own and they have a company to call for service when they need it. Ebay sellers fall off the face of the earth when its time for warranty repair.

I would maybe look into the Philips line of remotes like the TSU9600 where you can program it yourself if you upgrade something. Also the software is updated regularly by philips and as a consumer you can download it and also the firmware upgrades are available also. The only drawback of the pronto is that it doesn't have WPA security if you need it. Otherwise the Philips is a better choice since we do not have many URC or other Professional only dealers/programmers in Canada. So if your dealer/programmer in your city decides not to carry the brand anymore than you are F*&K and at $1500+ programming that would be a costly mistake. That to me is what made me decide on the Pronto TSU9600. Professional help from programmers if I needed it or I can do it myself if I want to. Also I don't have to pay someone everytime I change my equipment.
