I really need some thoughts.

I am the owner of a Harmony 688 (now dead). In the first year, the 688 flat out died. Customer service was great and they sent me a new replacement. After another year, the replacement has died.

Issue is that I LOVE the Harmony 688, but I HATE that they seem to die once a year, at least on me. I use it ALLOT. I have it working my...

Lutron Dimmer
Pre-Amp
TV
DVD
XBOX 360
Cable box

Not sure what to do at this point as the Harmony meets the price point but not the longevity, even for that price point. Thought about the URC MX line as I NEED hard buttons, but...

Here's what I need:
Customer Service - I don't want to be on my own if the thing stops working or dies. Harmony has been good so far in that department.

Longevity - Harmony has not been that good for me in this area, but CS has made up for it.

Price - I'm not going to pay full boat for a remote unless you guarantee me 5 years of service, and then $200 might be the max unless I'm wow'd.

Programmable - This is a must and I don't want to go to warez sites to get the software.

Codes - Standard and descreet codes an absolute must.

Thoughts?

I would if there was general experience that the longevity was well beyond a year..

I'm also having real issue understanding the products that they sell, the differences that is. I posted a note in the URC forum looking for a product matrix, but the main things I'm interested in are...

PC programmable via usb.
Descreet and non-descreet codes.
Number of macros.
Number of hard button macros.
Number of LCD associated buttons.
Msrp of each.
Picture where you can see the buttons for each model.

You'd think that it would be something that they offer, but I cannot find...

Go check my reply and ask more in the URC forum.

I've never seen or heard of one of them breaking in just a year.
