Greetings,

Well i've spent a couple of hours on this site looking at reviews of the various remotes.

At this stage, the MX-500 is looking good. It can be had online for about $70USD which seems reasonable.

But before i take the plunge, are there others that should be added to the short list?

I have a TV, Cable Box, HiDef STB, DVD Player and a DVD Recorder to control with this puppy.

Any other candidates? Thanks in advance. :-)

The URC-300 seems to go for the same bucks. Should i be considering this? Ta.

I'd go with a URC-200 (or it's replacement the RF-20) over the URC-300. Having a touchscreen on what is essentially a button remote makes little sense to me.

Touch screen vs. button layout.

I like the Page + and Page - button layout MUCH better on the URC-300 (RF-30) than the URC-200 (RF-20).

But, if those buttons are in a decent place for you, then the URC-200, then the 200 is a bit cheaper.

One way or the other, they are both a better remote than the MX-500 now, IMHO.
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.
