I'm very new to the world of RS232 codes and programming, but I just completed a Nevo Q50 remote file that I used RS232 control for the Plasma.  I got the codes from the Pioneer website and they all work fine.  I was just wondering if they dont publish all the codes, and one possibly exists for auto-programming the cable/off air channels?

right now I have a macro setup in the file that will take you to the page to autoprogram, but then it requires some user input to select the proper modes.  I created a page of directions on the remote that walks them through the setup, but it would be cool to just have a code that does all that for you with one press of a button.  This would help me avoid some phone calls, since this project is on a boat, and the channels change for each area they dock the boat and plug into the dockside cable jack.

is this possible or am i just dreaming here?

Sorry but a single command doesn't exist. The only way is what you are doing or to duplicate the remote setup functions with the RS-232 commands.
They call me the "Thread Killer". Just watch!

thanks.

i made a long macro using the menu, arrow down, arrow right, enter, etc... commands, but the problem is that the tuner menu has a memory of how it was setup last. so if the user messes with the tuner menu, my macro will end up performing the wrong thing. it would be nice if the menu system on the pioneer tv menu wouldnt scroll back to the top when giving a down command on the last option, otherwise i could get it to work.

i guess i am stuck with the shorter macro, and a page of directions on the remote :(

thanks for your help.

Yeah, personally I feel that CE devices shouldn't wrap around on menu selections - although an alternative solution would be to have commands for EVERY possible function. :-)

I just noticed - a 60" plasma on a boat. Sweet.

yeah, the tv barely fit where they installed it. the really lame thing about this install though, is no HD satellite tv, and no Bluray. they just wanted the tv because it is the largest that would fit....
