im using a URC MSC-400 and i want to control both of these devices. in the past i have controlled matrix switchers and some DENON gear with great success but with SONY i cant get it to respond. does anyone have the ascii commands to send to it. im using a null cable and set to 9600 but no luck. i can control it using Cinemar so i know the serial port is good. thanks in advance

okay i see taht but im not very good with hex and dec conversions. typically i can find the hex dec or ascii commands that are word for word. i see on the spreadsheet you can click on the link within the spreadsheet and it take syou to the command section but cant tell what my data actaully is and what it should be set for (protocol)

If you can't do the conversions in your head you can use the calculator in Windows. Set the view to scientific. Select Hex. Type in a hex number and select Dec. The number will be converted. Do the same thing in reverse to convert decimal to hex. I didn't follow what you wrote about the command section. Can you explain your problem with an example?
