Hello, does anyone happen to have documentation on RS-232 commands for the Sony CAV-M1000ES audio switcher?
I got a file from Sony tech support named CAV-AUXControlProtocol_V3.1.xls but using the commands on there, cannot seem to get the RS-232 switching to work.
For example, the XLS file lists the following command to switch Zone 1 to Source 1.
STX 0x93
BC 0x06
PDC 0x55
ID 0x00 (RFID)
CMD 0x55 (CMD_Remote_A)
DATA 0x01 (Main Zone)
DATA 0x01 (Source 1)
DATA 0x0E (Play)
CS 0x40 (Checksum)
I send hex (\x93\x06\x55\x00\x55\x01\x01\x0e\x40) to the CAV-M1000ES via RS-232 but don't see any switching happening.
Has anyone ever used RS-232 commands on a CAV-M1000ES before?
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me make sense of this.
Thank you!
Jon
I thought that piece had dedicated software to program it over the serial interface.
This is the ~2005 model, yes?
Any reason you aren't using IR?
