I am new to URC IP control and would like to find or create scene codes For Yamaha RX-A830. I was unable to find scene codes in the URC database. Thanks

You mean scenes and not sound fields, correct? I have used the RX-Axx30 series, but not completely familiar with their scene modes.

You have a couple of different options here. A google search of the YNCA protocol will get you started, but an older protocol sheet will make you pull your hair out. https://ci.yamahaconnect.com is really your best friend in the world. However, I know how it is: as CI we run into product all of the time that we aren't dealers for, but are still expected to know everything about.

I am also surprised this isn't in the urc database. I am going to assume you understand the structure of the YNCA protocol or at least can deduce based on looking at your URC driver file.

For Zone 1:

SCENENAME

GET Command

@MAIN:SCENENAME=?

SCENE1NAME, SCENE2NAME, SCENE3NAME, etc

GET Command

@MAIN:SCENE1NAME=?

Retrieving renamed info of SCENE1

Parameters

Character Code: Latin-1, Variable Length (1 to 20 characters)

GET Only

First of all, thanks for your reply. I don't understand structure what so ever. I have tried to copy/modify existing files with no success. Could you make a sample of scene 2 for instance, something I could paste into an existing button?

If you download the manual from here and look on pg. 80, you see that you set the scenes on the receiver. It seems that the IP commands simply recall the scene you already have set.

What are you ultimately trying to accomplish?

I needed the IP code below to use in a macro for the URC iOS app. Since I don't know how to create these codes I was looking to find it and paste it into the macro. I dug a little deeper into the URC IP database and found all the scene codes under Yamaha RX-A3000 extended, 361. Thanks again for your help.

@MAIN:SCENE=Scene\x202\x0D\x0A
