Hi!

Does anyone knows the controlcodes of a samsung 9-Series TV for TCP-IP?
I have a Crestron CP3 ans tryed some commands i found in the net (like KEY_CHUP, KEY_VOLUP and so on). I also tryed the Samsung RS232 Codes with Checksum.

When i control the TV with the IR-Remotecontrol i get feedback.
For example te response of the menu-Button -\x02\x0C\x00iapp.samsung\x06\x00\x0A\x00\x02\x00\x00\x00

So the communication should work.
But i get no response when i try to control with tcpip.

regards
Scherwi

Random question: is this an european model?

I was readying through forums (as I am sure you have as well). It seems to be hit or miss with people having any luck with this TV. It also seems like there was a time that Samsung TVs would kill their ethernet jack on power off, requiring IR to turn it on. I can't find a good picture of the back panel. Does it have the Samsung RS232 connection?

Itīs an european model.
The panel has on the backside a 3,5mm jack for "Service".
I have to try this connection with the rs232 codes.

I had a kind of success....
I can control the TV with TCPIP, but in the moment it is neccessary to send every second command an authentication.
I will find out and post it :-)...

The only thing i am shure is that is it not possible to switch the TV on with TCPIP. Have anyone experience to use Anynet+????

From what I have read, Samsung disables the LAN jack upon TV power off and does not have a "net stand-by" like so many receivers and other TV brands.

I am using Exlink for several samsung models and can confirm it does (or can) work to power the TV on from a strict off state.

I tryed more commands and find out that some commands will break the tcpip connection. Itīs no problem to send the KEY_CHUP 10 times - but the connection break after 1 time send KEY_CHDOWN. In this case the TV will change the channel and break the connection immediately...

Maybe my TV use some other commands i donīt know.

Someone an idea?

I just put a similar model on display. It was not cooperative in putting into hotel mode for ex-link. I would like to know if I can get ip control to work, even though I really don't like IP control. You should send me the commands you have gotten to work so I can try some myself.

I can not send you the complete commands for the authentication. You have to calculate it with your IP-Address...

A description for the authentication and a list of all commands you will find here
[Link: netio.davideickhoff.de]

But the good news for my TV is that i can switch the power on with TCPIP :-)

My authentication:
\x00\x13\x00\x69\x70\x68\x6f\x6e\x65\x2e\x69\x61\x70\x70\x2e\x73\x61\x6d\x73\x75\x6e\x67\x28\x00\x64\x00\x10\x00\x4d\x54\x6b\x79\x4c\x6a\x45\x32\x4f\x43\x34\x77\x4c\x6a\x55\x77\x0C\x00\x51\x31\x4a\x46\x55\x31\x52\x53\x54\x30\x34\x3d\x04\x00\x51\x31\x41\x7a

Power ON:
\x00\x13\x00\x69\x70\x68\x6f\x6e\x65\x2e\x69\x61\x70\x70\x2e\x73\x61\x6d\x73\x75\x6e\x67\x11\x00\x00\x00\x00\x10\x00\x53\x30\x56\x5A\x58\x31\x42\x50\x56\x30\x56\x53\x54\x30\x34\x3D

Power OFF:
\x00\x13\x00\x69\x70\x68\x6f\x6e\x65\x2e\x69\x61\x70\x70\x2e\x73\x61\x6d\x73\x75\x6e\x67\x11\x00\x00\x00\x00\x10\x00\x53\x30\x56\x5A\x58\x31\x42\x50\x56\x30\x56\x53\x54\x30\x5A\x47

After this to commands the TV break the connection...
But Left,Right, ENTER work good.

KEY_LEFT:

KEY_RIGHT:
\x00\x13\x00\x69\x70\x68\x6f\x6e\x65\x2e\x69\x61\x70\x70\x2e\x73\x61\x6d\x73\x75\x6e\x67\x11\x00\x00\x00\x00\x0C\x00\x53\x30\x56\x5A\x58\x31\x4A\x4A\x52\x30\x68\x55

Hi Scherwi,

Thanks for those infos! I'm using a Samsung 46F6400 TV.
I've done the authentification and received the message on the TV screen to autorize the connexion with my CP3.
But if I try to send a command (like the POWER OFF), I've no control and I've this message from TV thru toolbox:
\x00\x0C\x00iapp.samsung\x04\x00d\x00\x01\x00
Before to send the command, I'm sending the authentification string

Any idea?

When you use the crestron you should check the Status of the TCPIP client. It shows you the connection to the TV - like "2d" for connection ok...

Which command you send? The reply you get looks good.

I'm able to control it now like power off command, but now chance to power it on... as soon as the TV is in Standby, the status thru toolbox is 1d, try to send a connnect command, status pass to 3d and so 1d. I can't have the 2d value until the TV is ON (by the remote control...).
And also when I'm able to send a command like KEY_VOLUP, I can send it once, after that the connexion between the CP3 and the TV is broken (4d & 5d), I reconnect it (2d) but I'm not able to send second time this command...

My Tv is an other - newer generation. So i think that your tv can not handle the power on command. But for the other commands You should write your program in the way that you will automaticly check the connection and send in case of an broke an authentication...
I did this.. and i can work with it...
I'm sorry for my english ;-)

Hi Scherwi,

FYI, i've a new Samsung 2014 serie H model (UE48H6200). I'm not able to send the authentification. It seems that Samsung change something as it's not possible to control the TV with any application as the old series (F) like Smart TV remote, the TV is found but the connection is not possible. Smartview 1.0 is not working on this new serie.
