I'm trying to program a Sharp and non of my codes are working...I have the manual but no luck. I did notice it had a reference to the return as 0Dh,0Ah or 0Dh. Does anybody have any ideas?

Good, Ol' Necro post, but since I had issues finding this information for a while, I want to make sure someone could find these easily:

Working for me on Sharp PN-E702B and PN-L702B with RTI XP-6 and Crestron MC3 -

POWR 0\r – Power Off
POWR 1\r – Power On

INPS0001\r – Input 1 (One TV required this every time it turned on before I was able to change to other inputs).

INPS 2\r – Input Select VGA
INPS 9\r – Input Select HDMI
MUTE 0\r - Mute Off
MUTE 1\r - Mute On

These are the only ones I had tested so far. If you check out Sharp's Manual, you can extrapolate other codes from there, and see if they work. One thing I have determined: So far the TV's have liked spaces vs 0's for the second byte.

Like most higher end Sharp products, a full command list is available in the manual.

Pg. 36 when you open it in reader. These are fairly common sharp commands, as well. Nothing really out of the ordinary. (At least power and input).

If you are having trouble with your power commands, particularly turning the TV ON from an off state of 232, it's because you have to send a one time command first.

Sharp needs a carriage return at the end as well. I don't even bother with the two way modules for Sharp TVs. I've not seen them work well since the ~c6400 series (give or take).

I'm also having the same issue with the PN-L802B recognizing a power off or on command. What one time command were you referring to that needs to be sent once?

Alright. What is your control system?
Are you using Ascii or Hex?

What codes have you tried so far for Power?

Did you try the P-on from the TV in the "off" state?
What was the result?

Did you try the P-Off from the TV in the "on" state?
What was the result?

still working with this? Still on pg 36 in reader?

"POWR0 " (that zero is followed by 3 spaces for the 8 bit command.
"POWR1 " (Another triple space)

Neither of these are working?

They should work, according to the manual, even if the TV is in low power mode, though I would probably put it into regular stand-by mode with

"STBM0 " (3 spaces, again). Obviously there is a distinction fro some commands depending on which stand-by mode it is in. Let us eliminate some questions by setting it to normal.

I assume you tuned on RS232 control in the menu. Do your other RS232 commands work? That's a good way to find out if it is on or not.

I am not familiar with this particular model, though I do know Sharps really well. Does this TV have the eco mode? It shows up as little leaves (like the kind that are on trees). It works based on the ambient light sensor or OPC. In the residential models of the these TVS, the eco mode has to be totally off or RS232 is broken.

Finally, here is the command from the residential models for the one time power alluded to before.

Basically, this tells the TV to start listening for power commands in the "off" position. If you don't send this command, then your Power off works but power on never does. I don't even know if this command is applicable to this TV. It needs to be send while the device is on.

Pg 47 in reader give you more details.

"RSPW1 " (three spaces).

Again, this only needs to be sent once, unless you have an rs232 profile like savant and others that structure this command into their driver structure already).
