Hello All.

I could use a little help as I am pretty new to this particular activity (programming IR codes for my equipment for use with my Home Auto system).

I have the Xantech MRC88 whole house audio/video distribution controller/amp, 8-source and 8-zone. I have the Xantech XDT dual tuner setup as 2 of my sources.

My home automation PC, running HomeSeer, can run a server/client plug-in that allows control of the system via touch-screens, iPhone, iPad, etc.

I am trying to program the IR commands for my XDT into HomeSeer but have run into a weird issue. I use the Global Cache GC-100 with an IR emitter to generate the IR signal to control the XDT. I used the hex codes from the Xantech programming software (called Dragon Drop) and converted them to a decimal string as used by the GC-100. I can't make these codes work.

So, I backed up and used the codes for my Sirius radio (which I found on this site). These IR signals work with the GC-100 sending them via IR emitter.

THE WORKING IR STRING FOR THE SIRIUS RADIO (IN HEX):

157 AD 15 41 16 16 15 16 16 16 16 16 15 16 16 16 16 16 15 16 16 41 15 41 16 40 16 41 15 41 16 40 16 41 15 41 16 16 15 16 16 41 15 16 16 16 16 16 15 16 16 16 16 40 16 41 15 16 16 41 15 41 16 40 16 41 15 5F3 157 56 16 00 - Even number of pulses

SAME STRING IN DECIMAL (WORKS WITH GC-100):

343,173,21,65,22,22,21,22,22,22,22,22,21,22,22,22,22,22,21,22,22,65,21,65,22,64,22,65,21,65,22,64,22,65,21,65,22,22,21,22,22,65,21,22,22,22,22,22,21,22,22,22,22,64,22,65,21,22,22,65,21,65,22,64,22,65,21,1523,343,86,22,0

Next, I used the Dragon Drop software and the IR learn capability of the MRC88 with my Sirius remote and had it learn the IR code for the same command that works above.

THE NON WORKING IR STRING FOR THE SIRIUS RADIO FROM XANTECH LEARN(IN HEX):

4A 11 05 00 35 04 27 46 00 23 60 8A AA A8 88 88 88 8A AA A8 88 88 88 80 01 37 E0 46 40 11 C0 80 02 EF 40

THE NON WORKING IR STRING FOR THE SIRIUS RADIO FROM XANTECH LEARN(IN DECIMAL):

74,17,5,0,53,4,39,70,0,35,96,138,170,168,136,136,136,138,170,168,136,136,136,128,1,55,224,70,64,17,192,128,2,239,64 - Odd number of pulses

Totally different string of values. It appears that the Xantech IR codes are based upon a different system.

Can anyone help me make sense of this?

Thanks in advance!!

Larry
