Hey guys,

Im an AV installer currently working in New Zealand. I am after any helpful hints, tips, knowledge of an experienced programmer in Crestron and Amx Hardware. I often work with the two brands mention above to control commercial installs.

I am a complete novice to programming but I have a very logical working brain and above average intelligence! Im hoping you guys can point me in the right direction, maybe to courses to study or programs to play with.

I hope i don't sound too naive in thinking I can pick up programming from scratch, but I am very determined and possibly quite geeky when it comes to something I enjoy.

I believe Crestron can be programmed with Simpl and Simpl+, but i'm not too sure about AMX.

I can get AMX or Crestron control panels to play with at home to test code etc.

Any information would be greatfully received!!

You say you work with Crestron and AMX, but are you a dealer for these brands as well? Neither mfg allows us as dealers to distribute the programming software to end users as this is how they protect their name.

For Crestron if you are a dealer you will have access to all their programming solutions through their website. I would recommend you watch the online videos and follow along in Simpl to get started, then download some example programs to see how they are programmed
