I have a yamaha RX-V1800 receiver that I have been controlling via RS-232 for about 2 year...ish) but now wanting the remote to show the master volume and other settings on the screen, its a pronto TSU-9600.

My question is does the yamaha amp send messages over RS-232 when asked or just listens for them and not reply to any requests?

Hi you will need to be able to write java Script to get feedback on to the pronto, try looking in the Pronto proffessional section
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm actually learning how to write js as we speak, getting the basics down but a lot of learning still to do. I was just wanting to know if the Yamaha sends replies or just receives messages.

the rxv1800 will give you feed back , you just need to get hold of the rs232 protocol
