This is my first time developing for a Sharp product. It is clear from the television's manual that more commands are available as it states:
"Commands not indicated here are not guaranteed to operate," call me paranoid!

I have Power, Input, AV Mode, Volume, Position, View Mode, Mute, Surround, Audio Selection, Sleep Timer, Channel, CC, Device and Model Name, Software Version, IP Protocol Version and 3D.

What other command sets are there? No navigation commands (enter/up/down/left/right/return/exit/apps)?!? No colored button commands (A/B/C/D)? No rewind, pause, ff, stop, next and prev commands?

Maybe I'm expecting too much, but at a minimum, I would expect all the buttons on the remote to be implemented as IP Control commands.

Please help! Feel free to PM or email if it's something you don't feel comfortable posting for everyone to download.

Did you ever find a command set for the navigation commands? Are there default commands out there or are there specific sharp ones?

There are none,

I tried the commands for the pro displays as well, but the protocol suck just big time.

Only one command for turning on power savings is not documented.
With this you can turn on and off the rs232 power on command.

I think I may have solved this age old question (but I need someone with a 2010 or 2011 model Sharp who has updated their firmware to test)!?!

On Sharp's site, I discovered a user manual for the 2012 TVs and it includes commands to do anything the remote can! I now have a 2012 model (returned my 2011 Sharp 735u), and I'm working on a module for my home automation system to use the commands.

I'd love to know if this 2012 protocol works on some of the older sets.

Hello
It seems that RSPW2 allows (must be used prior to) POWR1 / POWR0 using IP protocol.
I'm an iRules (www.iruleathome.com) use and it works fine...

"On" button :
RSPW2
Pause (1sec)
POWR1 -> turns the TV on

"Off" button
POWR0 -> turns the TV off

I'm trying to write a small program in C# to control my TV and am having problems logging into it. I set my username and password on the tv and have connected to the IP and port.

When I send a message, I get a reply that says "Login:"
I try to send it my username and wait for an ok, but it hangs.
My username is "admin" so I've tried sending "admin" or "admin " with 3 spaces to make 8 bytes but the result is the same.

I've tried sending my username, wait for the "login:" reply, then sending my password but it hangs again.

How is everyone else sending their username/password to connect?

Thanks in advance!

I Found a page about 'remote control buttons'

Described as follows
RCKY*_ _ _
where asterisk replaces a value and _ replaces a space

Anyone nows what should be done with values higher than 9?

RCKY38_ _/r
or
RCKY38_ _ _/r

Hi Stephan,

Last year i didn't do much with new sharp product, but as far as I know there are no RCKY keys..
So, Can you confirm this really works, and would you like to share your source?

Thanks !

Hi,

Can anybody try my android apk with code RCKY ? On my Sharp Aquos is unfunctional :-(

[Link: ulozto.cz]

Set TV
IP: the same as aplication
protocol: the same as aplication
login:
passw:
IP control : enable

Set aplication
after click HW button menu
IP: IP TV
Protocol: the same as TV

You must be on the same network. It is test version. When Sharp will do firmware functional, IŽll do full version.

I have the same issue. I can see my RX TX strings and I am using TCPIP client.\ on port 10002
How did you resolve the issue? How did you bypass the Login and user password? thx

I've tried several of the Sharp TV's including the 4k and pseudo 4k and NEVER gotten the IP control to work, even when I am confident that my commands are built properly.
