Does anyone know if the new DirecTV THR22 Tivo can be controlled via serial codes like the older DirecTV DVRs? I currently have the HR24 and with the USB dongle it allows me to use RS-232.

I assume that it can. I know it can be controled via IP using standard TiVo remote commands such as IRCODE, SETCH, FORCH and TELEPORT. You can also get the current chanel using the CH_STATUS headder.

I just ordered a IP2serial and a USB2serial adapter (for use in iRule) so once they both come in within the next week, I should be able to post a more positive confirmation.
